Library Card

  All library cards for Hartington and Cedar County residents are available free of charge.
Children must be 7 years of age before a library card is issued. Children between the ages of 7-14
are required to have parent or guardian signature. A one time $20 fee will be charged to
those residing outside of Cedar County.

Loan Periods

Books-2 week checkout
Audio Books and CD's-2 week checkout
Magazines-2 week checkout
Videos- 1 week checkout
DVD's-3 day checkout. No renewals.

Items maybe renewed over the phone to avoided late fees.
Cardholders are responsible for all lost or damaged materials.

Library materials may be returned to the book
drop located in the back of the building when the library is closed.
Please DO NOT drop VHS tapes or DVD's in the book drop.

Internet Services

Internet Access-the library has 9 patron computers with high speed internet access
and are equipped Microsoft Windows XP and 2002 Office
software that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Frontpage and Publisher.

WiFi Services are available in the main library and the public meeting room.
